Yoga + Ashram Life

Yoga Program
Morning posture class, relaxation - Yoga Nidra, Meditation, Evening program of havan and kirtan - chanting and discussion are part of the daily program and total ashram experience.

Ashram Life
Head, Heart & Hands fully express themselves in the aspect of Karma Yoga - an opportunity to share your creative skills and energy to maintain the vision of yoga and to provide a place of learning and sustainability for the community and society.

Seva is a natural and harmonious expression of the self. You may be helping in the organic veggie garden, kitchen - vegetarian food preparation, bread making, maintenance - learning new skills or sharing your skills, library, office or involved in a building project or the environmental property management project.  4 to 41/2hrs per day of Karma Yoga is involved in the Yoga & Ashram Life stay.

Yoga + Ashram Life

From Sannyasi Adhyatma
Karma Yoga has truly helped me to expand beyond my limited self, initially by taking me out of my normal comfort zone, allowing me to face challenges in a supportive positive environment such as the ashram, and connect with others in a non-judgemental way.

I have a much clearer idea of my strengths and weaknesses, and have learnt how to communicate with compassion to many types of different people, which allows a greater experience in all aspects of my life.

I can take the principles of Karma Yoga such as equanimity, efficiency, non-attachment and ego-lessness into the more "mundane" tasks of my everyday reality and get greater benefit than if i was just working normally for a wage.

Karma Yoga is therapeutic for me in that it helps to shift energy that can be often hard to shift, like sadness, anger or depression because it takes me out of my self- obsession and gives me a precious opportunity to serve others.
